ASKLEPION OF KOS
Regarded as one of the most popular attractions on Kos Island, the Asklepion of Kos is a sanctuary of Asclepius, the god of medicine. These shrines were among the most important in the ancient Greek world.
THE CASTLE OF THE KNIGHTS OF ST JOHN
Built in 15th century by the Knights of St John, this huge and impressive castle guards the entrance of Kos harbour. It is also called Castle Neratzia, which roughly translates to ‘sour oranges’, due to the orange trees that once grew around the castle.
ANCIENT AGORA
Strolling through the Agora is like taking a trip through an ancient Greek market. These historical ruins were believed to be constructed around 3 BC and include the Shrines of Aphrodite and Hercules.
